Nestled near Harrison Hot Springs in British Columbia's Fraser Valley, Agassiz Speedway is a prominent motorsport venue approximately 90 minutes east of Vancouver and 3 hours north of Seattle. Operated by the non-profit Kent Raceway Society, the track has long been a hub for stock car racing enthusiasts, offering a picturesque setting for high-speed competitions.
In recent years, the speedway has embraced the growing drift scene, featuring events hosted by organizations like the Bold Connections Drift Alliance (BCDA). The oval track, complemented by a dynamic infield, provides an ideal layout for thrilling drift competitions.
Investing into the local scene at Agassiz Speedway, BCDA broke ground on new infield pavement between the oval sections. Creating a much more drift friendly layout. Before being physically installed, the layout was first meticulously modeled and tested in Assetto Corsa. This innovative collaboration between BCDA and Feint Visuals ensured that the surface design and layout would deliver a top-tier drifting experience in the real world. This approach not only highlights BCDA's forward-thinking approach but also underscores the valuable role we can provide in motorsport planning.
Despite facing challenges over the years like flooding that temporarily affected the track and pit areas, the motorsport community's resilience and dedication have kept Agassiz Speedway thriving. Its virtual recreation, now allows fans worldwide to experience the track digitally, further cementing its legacy in motorsports.
